A Bit About Me

Amanda Michels, CCCE, CLD

I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Zoology.  From there I worked as a Zookeeper, mostly small primates and large hoof stock.  I quit when my husband and I were expecting our first child.  My 'not so great' experience during that pregnancy and birth prompted me to prepare even more when we found out we were expecting Baby #2.  Because that second birth was so empowering (I was informed, I had an awesome support team, I was able to advocate for my wants), I knew I had to do everything in my power to help other women experience that feeling as well.  I took everything that I'd learned and experienced and continued to learn more and more so that I can assist women to have empowering birth experiences of their own!
